Jo Wiegandt

Jo Wiegandt is a producer, stage manager, and director based in NYC. Jo works primarily with non profit organizations and emerging artists. They are the operations and outreach coordinator at Rattlestick Theater and a freelance producer of new plays. Jo has stage managed new work development at Atlantic, BRIC, and New York Theatre Workshop and works seasonally as a stage manager developing new work with artists at Mercury Store.

I am passionate about new works and generative theater, and love that this form offers the opportunity to learn alternate perspectives. I believe in artists, and try to respond to their ideas with an attitude of yes; the first step is to assume that the vision is possible, the next is to start figuring out how. I believe in surrounding myself with the work and practicing empathy throughout the process. I am always prepared to jump into something new; theater is constantly in motion, a state that I would mirror in my life and career.
