Jo Wiegandt

Jo Wiegandt is a producer, stage manager, and director based in NYC. Jo works primarily with non profit organizations and emerging artists. They produce festivals and workshops with Pioneers Go East Collective, including the annual Out-FRONT! Festival, and have stage managed new work development at Atlantic, BRIC, and New York Theatre Workshop. Jo also works seasonally as a stage manager developing new work with artists at Mercury Store.

I am passionate about new works and generative theater, and love that this form offers the opportunity to learn alternate perspectives. I believe in artists, and try to respond to their ideas with an attitude of yes; the first step is to assume that the vision is possible, the next is to start figuring out how. I believe in surrounding myself with the work and practicing empathy throughout the process. I am always prepared to jump into something new; theater is constantly in motion, a state that I would mirror in my life and career.
